Five small habits that calm an anxious morning

Simple things you can try tomorrow to start the day steadier.

Dr. Elena Marsh

Mornings are often when anxiety feels loudest. Before your feet touch the floor, your mind is already racing through the day ahead.

Small, repeatable habits can lower that first wave of worry. None of them take more than a few minutes, and you don't need to do all five. Pick one and try it for a week.

Put your phone out of reach at night. When you wake, take five slow breaths before you check anything. Notice your feet on the floor, drink a glass of water and step outside for a minute of daylight.

If anxiety is getting in the way of your days, talking to a therapist can help. You can book a free 15-minute call with us at any time.
